Sisters working with IDPs in Jabboulé, Lebanon.
Since September 23, 2024, intense shelling in the villages around Jabboulé in Lebanon’s northern Bekaa has forced hundreds of people to seek refuge in the compound of the monastery of the Sisters of Our Lady of Good Service in Jabboulé. «On the first night of the bombing, dozens of people ran to take refuge in our home,» explains Sister Joselyne Joumaa Bon. «Every day, we saw several dozen people pouring in. On the twelfth day, we had already exceeded 800 people. We are overwhelmed and we can no longer receive more.»
