Fr. Raymond Abdo (Provincial of the Order of Discalced Carmelites in Lebanon) gathered with a group of children from a Carmelite school in Kobayat on the fire-burnt hill. They wanted to «give thanks for Our Lady’s protection and the rescue of two of our students whose lives were in great danger from a fire on the hill».
«We wanted to do something symbolic in the midst of a burnt and dead nature to give thanks for the two children who were rescued from their burning house by the Red Cross, and to encourage many other children to trust in the power of prayer,» the priest said.
