A series of explosions took place throughout the island of Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, the 21st of April 2019. Two of these deadly blasts devastated two Catholic churches in the Archdiocese of Colombo, namely, St. Anthony’s Shrine, Kochchikade, Colombo 13 and St. Sebastian’s Church in Katuwapitiya, Negombo. St. Anthony’s Shrine is located in the city of Colombo and St. Sebastian’s Church is also a renowned church in Katuwapitiya, Negombo.
